Join Us in Creating a Permanent Safe Haven for Pakistani Christians: A Call for Support

[ad_1]

The British Asian Christian Association (BACA) is excited to announce a crucial initiative that will make a profound difference in the lives of vulnerable Christians in Pakistan. We are launching a priority appeal to establish a permanent safe house dedicated to providing protection and support for children and women who are victims of rape, blasphemy law survivors, other persecuted Christians and their families.

Why We Need This Safe House

Currently, many of those we support face long waits for temporary accommodations, which often exacerbates their trauma and vulnerability. The insecurity of awaiting a temporary rental or with financially strained relatives can lead to further violence, threats or significant emotional distress. Our new safe house will offer a stable, immediate refuge, ensuring that these individuals are protected while we work on finding more permanent solutions.  Our safe House programme which relied on temporary rents has already helped hundreds of victims We remind you of the sisters Serish and Farzana who where gang raped at gun point and brutally raped for five hours by gun men (click here).  We more recently housed the wife of Blasphemy victim Zafar Bhatti (click here) and also Nabeel Masih (click here).

What the Safe House Will Offer

Our safe house will provide a temporary but secure environment for those in need. While it will not be their final home, it will offer a crucial interim solution as we assist them in finding more permanent housing. Here’s what the safe house will include:

  • A Safe Haven: Immediate protection from harm and a secure environment to heal and recuperate.
  • Training Opportunities: Women staying at the safe house will have access to stitching and other vocational training. This initiative will empower them to earn a respectable wage and secure safer housing once they have transitioned out of the safe house.
  • Support and Fellowship: We are committed to helping our beneficiaries find work and ensure that they can afford permanent rentals. The permanent homes, which we will help them secure, will be in Christian communities where they can continue to receive support and fellowship.

Our Funding Goal and How You Can Help

We have already made significant strides with your support. Through a small appeal, we’ve raised £520 towards our target. Thanks to a generous larger donor, we now have the opportunity to match fund up to £7,500, bringing us closer to our goal of £15,000.

Every contribution counts and helps us get one step closer to providing this essential resource. We invite you to join us in this vital mission. Your donation will directly impact the lives of those in desperate need of safety and support.

To support this cause and help us reach our goal, please donate (here).

Together, we can create a sanctuary of hope and healing for those who need it most. Thank you for your continued support and generosity.

Warm regards,

The British Asian Christian Association Team
